Madge Scott is a self-taught award-winning Folk Artist, working in all mediums except clay. She worked on Illustrations for writers, has done work on 3 movie documentaries for City Lore, and has also done some voice-over work. Her work was written in a play "Good People " by Elmwood Playhouse and a couple of her pieces was loaned to the State Department for their Embassy in the Congo. Her work has been featured in magazines, newspapers, periodicals, and books. Her work has been shown in Galleries in the United States, Consulates, Universities, Museum and Libraries, Municipal Buildings in Westchester, Arts Westchester, and many other venues. She was awarded The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award in 2013 and by the Westchester County Board Of Legislature in 2019. She is a volunteer and a member of RiverArts and Arts Westchester and has sold her work nationally and internationally over the years. She teaches drawing and painting when students are available and does commission work in Portraiture and Book Illustrations. She paints in all mediums and does commission drawings as well. She does lectures on her historical works and is always available to help the community in any way she possibly can. In 2017, she was interviewed by LMCTV in Mamaroneck, NY about her work.
